A Legacy of Supporting Broadcasting in Connecticut

Since 1955, the Connecticut Broadcasters Association has brought together broadcasters from across the state to support a strong, informed, and connected industry. Representing both commercial and non-commercial radio and television stations, the CBA serves as a trusted resource for broadcasters navigating an ever-evolving media landscape.

Over the years, the association has grown alongside the industry, fostering collaboration among stations, industry professionals, and broadcast-related organizations. Through changing technologies, regulations, and audience expectations, the CBA has remained committed to supporting the broadcasters who inform, educate, entertain, and serve communities throughout Connecticut.

Today, the Connecticut Broadcasters Association continues to unite industry leaders and emerging professionals alike, helping ensure that broadcasting remains a vital and impactful part of communities across the state.

The Value of Local Radio & Television Advertising

Local radio and television continue to play a vital role in helping businesses connect with Connecticut audiences. Explore the unique strengths of each medium and why broadcast remains an essential part of a successful marketing strategy.

Why Radio Matters in Connecticut's Marketing Mix

  • Radio reaches more than 2 million Connecticut listeners each week, with audiences tuning in for an average of 9 hours and 15 minutes, making it one of the state's most effective mass-reach media platforms.
  • Connecticut's fragmented media landscape makes radio uniquely valuable, allowing advertisers to target specific communities and regions while reaching listeners at home, in the car, at work, online, and on mobile devices.
  • Local stations and personalities are trusted community voices, delivering news, weather, emergency information, and local content that fosters strong listener engagement and advertiser credibility.
  • Radio offers exceptional flexibility and cost efficiency, enabling businesses to respond quickly to promotions, changing market conditions, and community events while delivering frequent, affordable exposure.
  • Local radio strengthens Connecticut communities by supporting local businesses, nonprofits, events, and public safety, making it an essential component of any integrated marketing strategy.
