The Connecticut Broadcasters Association has been serving radio and television stations across the Nutmeg State for more than 70 years. Representing more than 90% of Connecticut stations, the CBA advocates on behalf of broadcasters at the state and federal levels and provides a variety of training and compliance resources for every area of station operations.

Advocacy & Government Relations

- Our government relations firm pursues all Connecticut legislative issues directly affecting broadcasters and keeps the Board informed.
- CBA representatives meet regularly with our Washington legislators to keep them informed about your interests and concerns.
FCC & Industry Relations

- On-going dissemination of FCC, NAB, legislative information.
- Contracting and implementing of an Alternate Inspection Program(ABIP) in partnership with the FCC.
- Emergency communications, alerting members to legal, regulatory, or legislative issues.
- Re-write, and distribution of the new EAS state plan which has been reworked by the CBA/EAS Committee to conform to the new FCC-EAS regulations.
- Development of the “AMBER” annex to the state EAS plan.
Professional Education & Training

- CBA sponsors and organizes conventions and trade technology seminars.
- Access to expert speakers, valuable resources, and networking opportunities.
- Over the years, the CBA has inducted more than a dozen distinguished individuals into the CBA Hall of Fame.
Public Relations & Community Service

- Statewide public service campaigns and PEP (Public Education Program)
- Community outreach that informs, educates, and strengthens Connecticut communities.
- Scholarships awarded to deserving communication students.
Alternative Broadcast Inspection Program (ABIP)

- The FCC may conduct unscheduled inspections of broadcast facilities. Through ABIP, a certified CBA inspector performs a complete FCC-style inspection of your station to help ensure compliance.
- Stations that successfully complete the program may avoid routine FC inspections for up to three years.
